FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bolton, ON Canada (December 7, 2023) . . . In 1998, Michael Maloney and Isolde Boettger started their new business venture, Silcotech, specializing in liquid silicone rubber (LSR) molding. As the company’s only two employees, they managed all company operations and with two molding machines, they started operations in a small, rented space in Bolton, Ontario.

On October 20, 2023, on a beautiful fall day in Ontario, Silcotech celebrated its 25th year in business. Today, the company is global, with over 100 employees, doing business out of its own highly automated, state-of-the-art facility in Bolton, just a few blocks from the original location. Silcotech also has a facility in India, Silcotech Bonny Products Pvt Ltd.

The celebration, held at Silcotech’s headquarters in Bolton, included plant tours of the company facility, followed by speeches and a luncheon for all employees and guests. Honored guests included local officials including the mayor of Caledon, Ontario, Annette Groves, and the CEO of Caledon Community Services, Geraldine Aguiar.

Later that evening, Silcotech hosted all employees at a local microbrewery for dinner, drinks, and dancing.

“When passion meets passion, great things happen,” said Michael Maloney, President and Co-Founder of Silcotech. “Since we started Silcotech, we have been passionate about helping people create new, better, and innovative products – people with a passion to see their vision become reality.”

As a good example of this, in his speech at the 25th anniversary celebration, Maloney referred to two of the honored guests in attendance, long-time customers Diva International and Trudell Medical International. Both companies produce products that have revolutionized health care; the DIVAÔ Cup is used by women globally for safe, cost-effective, and eco-friendly period care; and the Trudell Medical line of breathing products are also used worldwide to improve medication delivery to clear patient’s airways. Silcotech helped both companies develop and bring their products to market and has molded millions of parts for both.

“When my mother Francine and I set out to invent a modern version of the menstrual cup in 2001, we had a difficult time finding anyone that would work with us,” said Carinne Chambers-Saini, co-founder and CEO of Diva International, in her address at the Silcotech event. “In fact, no one would work with us – until we met Isolde and Michael. They were different – they embraced what we were doing, and their outside of the box thinking led us to the international success we have today.”

Chambers-Saini announced during her speech that Silcotech, in cooperation with Diva International, was donating DIVA cup retail packs to the Caledon Community Services organization for underserved women and girls in the local community. The retail value of the donations is $87,000.

Boettger said during her speech that Silcotech was ahead of its time, developing silicone rubber molding applications that most molding companies wouldn’t take on. Today, with numerous commercial successes and more on the way, the company is poised to grow substantially. In fact, Maloney stated that Silcotech’s goal is to double its business, and its facility, over the next 5 years. “That is our goal, and our mission,” he said.
